The game started off so crazy with these 2 drunk texans that were looking for a bigger PLO game. I short bought, because I knew I would have to play for stacks pretty light early on. I only bought in for $100. Doubled with AT. Misplayed 8s and TT, where I should have played for stacks but folded. I just didn't think I had enough fold equity with my shorter stack. I wasn't interested in playing a 3 or 4 way pot with 8s or TT preflop.
August 28th
Casino: Harrah's
Time: Day
Game: 1/2 NL
Hours: 2.5
Profit/Loss: $270
Notes: Crazy Texans in the game the 1st hour, $30-$50 preflop every hand. Second table very nitty with locals.
Hands:
This was against a local who is pretty decent. I just didn't see what he calls with on the turn that he bluffs the river with. Maybe like 9To, or JTo without a diamond, but I think he folds a lot of single pair hands on the turn with that many people behind him to act.
*There was a straddle on the button, so action preflop started in the SB. So I put a $4 preflop raise in the hand history.
It didn't show up. I have Qd8d.
I just can't think of a bluff in his range on the river. So many hands he has on the turn have showdown value on the river, so why bet big on the river? There's such a small range of hands he turns into a bluff on the river.
I didn't make it to Laughlin for the free roll. I was too tired and had too much to do at home. I might actually go play $.50/$1 NL at Bill's tonight. I want to play, but don't want to risk as much money.
